Neurofeedback at Poliklinika Golden Mind
Make time for yourself, not for travelling to appointments.
Would you like to work on your concentration, find it easier to relax or pay more attention to the quality of your sleep? Discover neurofeedback — brain activity training that you can do at home through Poliklinika Golden Mind, with an individual protocol and professional monitoring.
What is neurofeedback
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a non-invasive method of training the self-regulation of brain activity. Sensors placed on the head record the brain’s electrical activity, and a computer program turns this signal into visual or auditory feedback. This gives you immediate information about activity that you cannot normally observe directly.
The sensors only read the signal — they do not send electricity or other stimuli into the brain.
How neurofeedback works
Training is based on learning through rewards, also known as operant conditioning. While you watch a video or play a game, the program monitors the EEG signal. When an activity pattern that matches the goal of the protocol occurs, the image or sound changes in a way that acts as a reward. Self-regulation is practised through repetition.
The protocol determines what is trained. It is selected according to your goals, available EEG data and a professional assessment, and can be adjusted during the programme.
Who neurofeedback is for
The programme is intended for children, adolescents and adults, with individual assessment and adjustments to the training. We begin by discussing what matters to you in everyday life:
Attention and learning. For children and adults who experience distractibility, impulsivity or learning difficulties, including people with ADHD, we assess whether neurofeedback could be included as additional support.
Stress and emotional balance. If you find it difficult to relax or experience tension, anxiety or exhaustion, we can discuss self-regulation training as part of your care plan.
Relaxation and sleep. If you find it difficult to wind down in the evening or have trouble sleeping, we assess the causes of these difficulties and the suitability of neurofeedback as an additional method.
Sport and mental preparation. Athletes and recreational sports participants can use neurofeedback as an addition to an individual mental preparation programme focused on concentration, managing tension and self-regulation under pressure.
At home and on weekends
Fit training more easily around work, school and family commitments. You do not need to travel to the clinic or look for parking for every session, saving you time and travel costs. You can also train on Saturdays and Sundays, according to an agreed schedule, regardless of appointment availability at the clinic.
Send us an enquiry to find out whether the programme is suitable for you or your child.
What your home training looks like
After the initial assessment and development of your protocol, you receive the equipment and instructions for use. At home, you switch on the devices, position the sensors as instructed and start a video or game. Each training session lasts approximately 15–30 minutes, and you can train at home every day, including weekends, in accordance with your individual protocol and the recommendations of the professional team.
An individual protocol and professional monitoring
Your individual protocol is developed by Dr Giuseppe Augusto Chiarenza from Italy, a physician specialising in child and adolescent neuropsychiatry and neurology. He has obtained BCIA certification in neurofeedback, and his experience includes training and mentoring professionals.
The professional team monitors the data remotely and discusses changes in your everyday life with you. For children, a parent or guardian is involved in preparing and organising the training.
The suitability of neurofeedback is assessed individually. It is not a substitute for a diagnostic assessment or recommended treatment. Evidence of its effects varies depending on the difficulty being addressed and the protocol, and results cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Choose the duration of your programme
Give yourself time for regular training. We recommend a three-month programme to support continuity and monitor progress. A one-month package is also available, and any continuation is agreed according to your needs.
| Programme | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Three-month package | 3 months | €1,000 |
| One-month package | 1 month | €500 |
Both packages include the use of home training equipment and professional monitoring.
Development of an individual protocol
€200 one-off fee
An individual protocol is developed at the start of the programme and charged separately. Its development is not included in the package price.
Payment and additional benefits
To make it easier to plan your expenses, we offer payment in up to 6 instalments.
After the three-month programme, you can continue on a monthly basis at a reduced price, available on enquiry.
A second member of the same family using the equipment during the same period receives a 50% discount on the package price. A separate individual protocol is developed for each family member, and the discount does not apply to it.
